One day while on tour with the National Children's Theater of Cuba, I wore the "grumpy pelican" costume while performing a musical number on an outdoor stage surrounded by banana trees, got dehydrated from sweating too much, drank too much water at the Young Communist camp that gave us free lunch, started to lose my vision from some sorta violent reaction to the water, got a ride to the hospital from three clowns, and then spent the night in a communal ward next to a prisoner whose bed was guarded by two soldiers, one of whom walked me and my IV to the bathroom numerous times.
Highly recommend that you visit Cuba now that we can go legally.
